Cutting Tips
Share
We have a love of precuts here at Firefly Quilt Company and we want to share some ways to cut a fat quarter. We all have them in our stash waiting to be used! This will give you multiple sizes to work with. Once you know how to cut them you will be able to curate a collection that is all your own. A fat quarter is 22" x 18" and you can cut along the long edge to get a 22" x 2.5" cut then cut out 2 - 10" squares by making your first cut 10 inches over dividing to make your 2 squares. Next cut at 5" mark and sub cut into 4 - 5" squares. This will leave a small scrap. You can also use a fat quarter to make anything from 6 - 6.5" squares to 56 - 2.5" squares.
